It’s been a couple of months since I heard from Tellas last time, but this new mural painted in East London for Village Underground was worth waiting for.
Curated by Howard Griffin Gallery and located on Holywell Lane, Shoreditch, the new mural is a good example of Tellas’ work and interest in non-urban aesthetics focusing on a close study of nature expressed through a very personal visual language.
His meditative and poetic work, characterized by a delicate line-work in an often black and white colour scheme, is minimalistic yet very detailed where explorations of untouched landscapes give shape to delicate abstracted motifs that, persistently repeated, evoke a sense of vastness that eventually translates into a feeling of calmness.
