freddysam-capetown-1Our Gentle Hearts Feel Much But Know Little is South African artist Freddy Sam‘s latest mural in Cape Town.
Showing the image of a young man holding a dead dove in her hands, the message of this new mural not only speaks to the students who are denied education, but also those in power all over the world who are ignorant to the reality that we are all connected and we are all one. Everything is interconnected; when we awaken to this, a true freedom and peace can arise.
The mural was created with the support of the #NotACrime campaign that mixes old-school street art and the power of social media to fight for human rights in Iran. Their message is clear:
“The Baha’is are Iran’s largest religious minority. But Iran’s government has persecuted them since the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Businesses are torched, people are fired from their jobs, thousands are harassed and jailed, and hundreds have been killed.
The government also bans the Baha’is from teaching and studying in Iranian universities. But they do teach and they do study – in secret.”
