Two great Spanish street artists, Liqen and Sam3, met recently in Vigo, Spain, where they decided to work on a quick, spontaneous and beautiful collaborative mural that, titled Modelling 1, represents a visual ode to pottery making, an idea that slightly reminds me of John Keats “Ode on a Grecian urn”.
In Liqen’s words:
For the modelling of the earth through man, creating a bridge between the west and the east reflected in the passage of time, from the antiquity to today.
Pottery for good and for evil is the mother of progress, progress. The earth gives us the answer once again, and it is directly related to all the rituals of life and death during the times of mankind. Here our little homage-vision. – Liqen
Perfectly executed in that peculiar surrealism that characterises both artist’s work, the new mural offers a beautiful interpretation of the art of pottery making and its intrinsic connection to our society and cultural development. Here a few images of the work.
