After a successful Kickstarter campaign, Italian artist RUN will be launching his new book Time Traveller Artist Man next week at Jealous gallery in London.
RUN and the gallery will be celebrating with an exclusive 4 day pop-up show in occasion of the launch of the book and where the artist will exhibit new prints and original work.
‘Part travelling diary, part monograph, Time Traveller Artist Man charts the triumphs and tribulations of an imaginative soul with a passion for travel, whose worldwide voyages have become a catalyst to create art that is elemental and playful, with the ultimate goal of engaging with people from all walks of life. The reference to time travel in the book’s title is a quirky but insightful notion which reflects the artist’s particular world vision. Through his journeys to countries such as China, Senegal, Italy, Morocco and Gambia, where in many areas they still do things in time-honoured ways, by hand or with basic tools and methods, the artist was struck by the sense of going back in time. Some of these places are rapidly developing beyond recognition and consequently there is the danger of losing some of these traditional ways and yet within this process of change, Run’s explorations of different cultures confirm for him a central belief in the universality of humankind.’ – Tristan Manco
RUN’s book signing event will be held at Jealous East on 2nd February 6:30-8:30pm, with his exhibition running from the 1st-5th February, both exclusively at Jealous East.
