Fabio Petani just sent over a few images of YTTRIUM & BETULA PENDULA his newest mural painted for the Effimural Project, curated by Il Cerchio E Le Gocce and organised in Turin, Italy.
Fabio Petani’s work represents a refined balance between organic forms, geometry and lettering, adding patches of ruddy colour into a disordered harmony that favourises symbolism and abstraction.
He creates murals and paintings that bear the names of natural elements such as chromium, platinum, americium and so on. There is always some kind of connection between the depicted elements in his paintings and the composition, incorporating the numbers of the elements and even the colours when they apply. This is the case of this new mural that titled Yttrium, a chemical element with symbol Y and atomic number 39, and Betula Pendula, commonly known as silver birch or warty birch, a species of tree native to Europe and parts of Asia which leaves are depicted here.

Throughout his rich artistic career, he has experimented, not only on the numerous commissioned murals, even on paper, canvas and alternative media. In this exhibition, some works on wood will be shown to the public for the first time, a material that enhances the subtle yet strong relationship between abstraction, nature, and chemistry that make him easily recognisable.
