GODS_BARLO_web03Italian urban artist Barlo just sent a few images of this new mural painted in collaboration with Gods in Love in sunny Italy where the cicadas were molting, hence the title of the piece “Muta”.
Cicadas begin life as a rice-shaped egg. Once the egg hatches the cicada begins staying underground from 2 to 17 years depending on the species until they emerge from the ground as nymphs for so climb the nearest available tree, and begin to shed their nymph exoskeleton starting their brief adult life. The sounds of the cicada is all about mating, this will be the end of their lives, but also represent a beginning.
